The new year cupboard clear-out, for people with a pudding pot problem.
Every January, the same thing happens: a cupboard gets opened, a small avalanche of empty pudding pots falls out, and a decision finally gets made about them. Here's how to actually do that clear-out, instead of just restacking the pile.
Four steps, not a system
How to actually clear it out.
- Take every pot out of the cupboard at once. Seeing the actual number is usually the point where denial stops.
- Keep the ones without a chip or crack. A pot you're nervous about stacking isn't one worth keeping.
- Recycle the rest properly. Glass recycling exists for a reason, and nine identical pots is nine too many.
- Put a lid on what's left. An unsealed pot is still just a pot; a sealed one is actual storage.
